Our Story

Founded in 1989 by a group of dedicated citizens, the Colorado Wildlife Foundation emerged from a vision to protect the state's rich wildlife heritage. Convened by then Governor Richard Lamm, this initiative has been pivotal in conserving Colorado's diverse ecosystems.

Since its inception, the foundation has successfully protected over 65,000 acres of critical habitat across Colorado, ensuring these vital areas remain undeveloped for generations to come.
