Our Story

The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, initiated in 2001 by three visionary Asian community leaders, has blossomed into the largest Dragon Boat Festival in the United States. From humble beginnings with just 16 teams and 16,000 attendees, the festival now attracts nearly 50 teams and over 200,000 attendees each year at Sloan's Lake Park in Denver.

This vibrant festival fosters bridges of awareness, knowledge, and understanding between diverse Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities and the general public through cultural education, leadership development, and athletic competition.
