Our Story
Founded in 2017, Collective Action for Youth emerged from a need for better coordination among initiatives aimed at supporting dual-status youth in Harris County. Initially, various efforts were underway, including the recruitment of students as Guardians ad Litem and the involvement of attorneys in dual roles. Recognizing the gaps in collaboration, a task force was formed, leading to the establishment of a central coordinating agency. By adopting the Georgetown Center for Juvenile Justice Reform’s Crossover Youth Practice Model, the organization has become a pivotal force in aligning efforts across multiple counties, including Bexar, Travis, Dallas, Tarrant, and McClennan.
