Co-founders Dr. Bruce Anderson and Dr. Robin Reineke expanded the organization in 2013, focusing on identifying remains of migrants and supporting families of the disappeared.

Impact

Since its inception, Colibrí has received over 3,500 missing persons reports and identified over 204 individuals who lost their lives while crossing the border. The organization has also collected more than 1,700 DNA samples, leading to 261 successful identifications.
