Our Story
The Cole County Historical Society was established on July 24, 1941, driven by a passionate group dedicated to preserving local history. In 1946, the Society successfully purchased the original Museum building, followed by extensive renovations that culminated in the grand opening on May 17, 1948. Today, the Society operates the Museum and the Upschulte House, relying on the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donors to maintain these vital community resources.
