Our Story

For over 20 years, Latinx immigrant leaders in the Emma neighborhood, situated on Anigiduwagi/Cherokee land, have been at the forefront of organizing efforts focused on mutual aid, community defense, and cultural uplift. This grassroots movement has birthed several organizations, including Nuestro Centro, CIMA, and the Mä hñäkihu: Indigenous Language Preservation Project. In 2018, these organizations united to form Colaborativa La Milpa, a collective dedicated to enhancing fundraising, planning, and strategic collaboration.

Currently, all donations are directed towards disaster relief efforts in Western North Carolina, providing essential support to those in need.
