Our Story

The Dyslexia School of Houston was founded by Tammy Spencer, who identified critical gaps in support for students with dyslexia during her 27 years in the Houston Independent School District. Established in September 2020, the school provides accessible dyslexia education and support, aiming to offer 'the first good instruction' to help students unlock literacy and build confidence in their reading abilities.

Impact

Since its inception, the Dyslexia School of Houston has supported over 160 students through after-school programs and Summer Literacy Camps, providing personalized, evidence-based therapy to empower students facing dyslexia and related literacy challenges.
