Our Story
Founded in 1955, the Coconino Humane Association began with a mission to enhance the treatment of animals in the community. After three years of fundraising and construction, the shelter opened its doors in 1958. In 2019, the organization proudly transitioned to a no-kill humane society, ensuring better care for animals in need.
Impact
By maintaining a stable population of approximately 2,500 animals, the Coconino Humane Association has drastically reduced euthanasia rates from 5,000-6,000 annually. The organization offers essential services such as pet adoption, low-cost spay/neuter programs, and emergency sheltering during disasters.
