About Coastal Wildlife Club
Coastal Wildlife Club, Inc. (CWC) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization committed to raising awareness about coastal ecosystems and the wildlife that inhabit them, particularly in the beautiful beaches of Southwest Florida. Since its inception in 1997, CWC has focused on monitoring sea turtle activity along the shores of Manasota Key, where these magnificent creatures nest in significant numbers.
Impact of Our Work
During turtle season, CWC volunteers patrol approximately 14 miles of beach daily, ensuring the safety and preservation of nesting sites. Over the years, the organization has successfully removed 178 crab traps from local beaches, significantly enhancing the nesting environment for sea turtles.
