Our Story

The Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD) was founded in 2005 by dedicated community leaders to address the pressing challenges faced by young people in South LA’s Vernon-Central neighborhood. Initially starting with a graffiti abatement contract, CRCD has expanded its mission to include vital services such as job training, affordable housing, and community support, significantly improving the quality of life for residents.

Impact

CRCD has made a profound impact by owning and operating 464 units of affordable and permanent supportive housing in South LA. With an investment of $170 million in housing initiatives, the organization has successfully served over 6,800 individuals through job placement and training programs.
