Our Story
Coalition for Courage was born from a deep commitment to support some of the most vulnerable children in one of the poorest regions of the world. Founded in 2002 by Arden O'Donnell and her dedicated team, the organization emerged after Arden's personal experience with loss due to HIV. This journey led her to Zimbabwe, where she witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by children orphaned by the epidemic.
During their time in Norton, Zimbabwe, Arden and her colleagues worked with Tsungirirai, a community-based agency that provided essential services such as outreach, education, and psychosocial support. They were inspired by the resilience of the children and the community's efforts to care for those affected by HIV. Their commitment resulted in significant projects, including a library, a supplementary feeding program, and educational scholarships for exceptional children.
Over the past two decades, Coalition for Courage has continued to evolve, adapting to the needs of the community while maintaining a focus on health, education, and welfare services. The organization has successfully raised funds to support various initiatives, ensuring that children in Norton receive the care and support they desperately need.
