Our Story

Compassionate Directions, formerly known as the Co-Occurring Disorders Institute, was established in 2001 under a SAMHSA grant. Initially focused on mental health and substance abuse information, it became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2004. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services to include outpatient behavioral health for children and families, implementing impactful programs like the Bring/Keep the Kids Home Program. In 2018, the rebranding to Compassionate Directions reflected a commitment to providing compassionate care to the community.
