Our Story

Founded in 2017 by prominent Republicans including Secretaries of State James A. Baker and George P. Shultz, the Climate Leadership Council is dedicated to developing and promoting market-based climate solutions. The Council's pivotal publication, The Conservative Case for Carbon Dividends, set the stage for bipartisan support in addressing climate change. In 2020, the Council introduced the Bipartisan Climate Roadmap, a comprehensive framework for carbon dividends legislation, which has garnered endorsements from major editorial boards.
