Our Story
Established in 1946 by William 'Bill' Powell, Clearview Golf Club was created as a sanctuary for all, transcending racial barriers in the sport. Opened to the public in 1948 and expanded to 18 holes in 1978, it stands as the only golf course designed, built, owned, and operated by an African American. Designated a National Historic Site in 2001, Clearview continues to thrive under the stewardship of Bill's children, Larry and Renee Powell, who uphold his vision of inclusivity and community engagement.
