Founded in 2002, CleanAIRE NC emerged from a dedicated group of volunteers in Mecklenburg County, united by a mission to improve air quality across North Carolina. Originally known as the Carolinas Clean Air Coalition, the organization has evolved significantly over the years. Recognizing the critical link between air quality, climate change, and public health, CleanAIRE NC rebranded in 2021 to reflect its expanded focus on these pressing issues.
