Our Story
The Clackamas Rotary Foundation (CRF), established in 1986, is dedicated to creating and managing funds that support the charitable endeavors of the Rotary Club of Clackamas. With a strong focus on tangible, local projects, CRF prioritizes initiatives that benefit youth, such as the All Abilities Park, annual educational scholarships, and the Rotary Youth Exchange program. Additionally, CRF funds essential local projects like the Food Program and smoke alarms in mobile home parks, while also contributing to international efforts, including rebuilding a hospital in The Gambia and providing ShelterBox shelters worldwide.
As an independent 501c3 charitable organization, CRF maintains a close partnership with the Rotary Club of Clackamas. The board of directors includes the current president, two immediate past presidents, and the president-elect of the Rotary Club, ensuring a collaborative approach to community service. The foundation plays a crucial role in funding club projects, while club members contribute their time and resources to execute these initiatives.
In 2009, CRF established the Platinum Fund, which allocates a minimum of 5% of its average three-year fund balance annually to charitable projects. The annual Clackamas Rotary Foundation Golf Classic serves as the primary fundraising event, and through careful stewardship, the Platinum Fund has grown to over $500,000, enabling CRF and the Rotary Club of Clackamas to undertake significant local projects with budgets exceeding $100,000.
