Our Story
City Repair Project began in the mid-1990s as a grassroots initiative focused on community-led placemaking. Inspired by the Lacandon Maya and cultural movements of the 1960s and 70s, this organization aims to reclaim public spaces and foster community connections.
Impact
Since becoming a registered nonprofit in 2000, City Repair Project has engaged thousands of community members in placemaking initiatives, creating over 70 street paintings and numerous ecological landscaping projects across the Portland Metro Area.
