About City of Good
City of Good is a nonprofit organization founded by Boise businesses and civic organizations to combat food insecurity and support local food producers. Launched in early 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, this initiative aims to enhance the community’s food system resilience. By partnering with the Boise Farmers Market, City of Good has successfully implemented a virtual shopping system and drive-thru delivery, mobilizing a dedicated volunteer base to ensure that those in need receive nutritious meals.
Impact of City of Good
Since its inception, City of Good has made a significant impact by distributing over 100,000 nutritious, restaurant-made meals to children, refugees, seniors, and others lacking access to food. Additionally, more than 50,000 pounds of local produce and over $45,000 worth of culturally-appropriate shelf-stable goods have been provided to school pantries and early learning centers, ensuring that children have access to healthy meals.
