City Care

Our Story

City Care exists to do the work few others are willing to do. With a belief in the intrinsic value of every person, this nonprofit advocates for the overlooked in Oklahoma City. Founded by a group of friends who felt a calling to serve, City Care began by offering a weekly breakfast to neighbors experiencing homelessness. This simple act of kindness has blossomed into a comprehensive support system, including the Whiz Kids tutoring program, which serves over 800 students each week, and Oklahoma City's only permanent low-barrier night shelter, opened in 2021.

Impact

Last year, 83% of City Care's funds were directed to charitable programs, providing direct relief to those in need. Since the opening of the Night Shelter in April 2021, 3,871 guests have received essential services.
