Our Story

Círculo de la Hispanidad was founded in 1980 in Long Beach, New York, by Gil Bernardino as a grassroots organization dedicated to serving the needs of Hispanic immigrants. Over the years, it has evolved from a single program to offering over twenty diverse programs in Education & Career Services, Health, Housing, Crisis Intervention, Violence Prevention, and Youth Development. The Hempstead office was established shortly after the Long Beach office, allowing Círculo to expand its reach and impact.

Each year, Círculo serves over twenty thousand individuals, providing essential resources to vulnerable families in underserved communities across Long Island. The organization continuously adapts its programs to meet the changing needs of the community, advocating for those who are often overlooked.
