Our Story

In the early 1970s, the Austin community on Chicago’s far west side faced significant challenges as demographic shifts led to declining real estate values and the erosion of community services. A group of passionate individuals from a diverse urban church felt a divine calling to make a difference. They established the Austin Community Fellowship, which laid the groundwork for what is now known as Circle Urban Ministries.

From humble beginnings in a modest storefront, Circle Urban Ministries has grown into a beacon of hope for the Austin community. With a mission to manifest God’s love through action, the organization has developed a multifaceted approach to address pressing issues such as poverty, housing, hunger, education, addiction, and legal advocacy.
