Our Story

The Circle of Peace Movement was founded in February 2010 in the Rondo neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota, by Russel and Sarah Balenger. This initiative began as a community response to rising violence, bringing together affected families to share meals and engage in meaningful conversations. Over the years, TCOPM has expanded to include diverse community members, police officers, and international visitors, meeting weekly for over six years and celebrating its 300th circle in July 2016.

Impact

With over 300 circle meetings facilitated, TCOPM fosters dialogue and understanding among community members, police, and local organizations, promoting racial healing and reducing violence.
