Empowering Latina Girls Through Education

Circle de Luz was founded in 2008 to address the alarming high drop-out rate of Latina girls, the highest among any ethnic group in the United States. By selecting a small cohort of seventh-grade Latinas, Circle de Luz provides extensive mentoring and holistic programming that supports their personal growth, academic readiness, and community engagement. This six-year program ensures that each girl is not only prepared for high school graduation but also equipped for future educational pursuits.

Impacting Lives and Communities

Circle de Luz engages and mentors young Latinas, known as hijas, nominated by their teachers to join the program. With a 100% high school graduation rate, each participant is guaranteed a minimum of a $5,000 scholarship for further education, breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering them to achieve their dreams.
