Our Story

The Cincinnati Tradition Drum & Bugle Corps, founded in 1984 by Tom Slade and Dan Hartwig, has evolved from a parade corps to a competitive powerhouse in the marching arts. Initially performing in exhibitions and parades, the corps made its competitive debut at the Queen City Classic in 1986. With a commitment to excellence, Cincinnati Tradition entered the Drum Corps Associates Championships in 2009 and has since achieved remarkable success, including being crowned Class A champions in 2016 and 2017. Since advancing to Open Class in 2018, the corps has consistently secured finalist status, showcasing its dedication to the art of marching music.
