Our Story

The Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra (CCJO) is a vibrant 17-member ensemble dedicated to the performance, preservation, and education of Jazz as a living art form. Founded in 2013 by Scott Belck and LeAnne Anklan, the orchestra features some of the most talented jazz artists and educators in the Greater Cincinnati area. By focusing on contemporary composers and producing original material, the CCJO honors the grand tradition of big band jazz while pushing the genre forward.

Impact

CCJO is committed to sharing the beauty of Jazz with students and audiences, providing no-cost guest clinicians and educational presentations throughout Greater Cincinnati. Programs like 'Let Freedom Swing!' and 'CHOPS' inspire the next generation of Jazz musicians and listeners.
