The Chugiak-Eagle River Foundation was established in 1992 by the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, following the successful staging of the 1996 Arctic Winter Games. With initial funding from a surplus of $45,000 and a generous bequest from Mary Lou Briggs in 2004, the Foundation aims to enhance the community and its residents, fostering a tradition of neighbors helping neighbors.
Dedicated to improving the quality of life in Chugiak/Eagle River, Alaska, the Foundation addresses emerging community needs through grants and scholarships from a permanent endowment.
