Founded in 1986 by Walter A. Haas, Jr. and Ira Hirschfield, the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund was established to address the urgent needs of individuals and families facing crises in the Bay Area. Over the years, this initiative has distributed an astounding $206 million, providing essential support to tens of thousands of households across nine counties.
