Our Story

In 1981, a coalition of community development corporations came together to combat housing abandonment and the critical shortage of affordable housing in Cleveland, Ohio. This initiative led to the formation of CHN Housing Partners, which has evolved to reflect a commitment to collaboration in preserving and expanding affordable housing. Today, CHN develops an average of 170 affordable homes each year and provides essential housing stability services to 60,000 families annually.

Impact

As the nation’s largest single-family affordable housing developer utilizing the Low Income Housing Tax Credit, CHN has successfully developed nearly 4,000 single-family homes and empowered 2,500 families to achieve home ownership through its Lease Purchase Program.
