Our Story

Established in 1963 by the Midland Nature Club, Chippewa Nature Center (CNC) has grown from 198 acres to over 1,500 acres of preserved land. Supported by the Dow Foundation, CNC opened its doors to the public in 1975, providing a space for nature education and fostering a deep connection between people and the natural world.

Impact

Each year, CNC serves over 70,000 visitors, including 1,000 children in Nature Day Camp, promoting environmental education and stewardship.
