Chinese Culture Connection

Our Story

The Chinese Culture Connection (CCC) was founded in 1985 in Reading, Massachusetts, by Catherine Hsu, who created an 'Intro to Chinese Culture' curriculum for her son’s classroom. As word spread, other educators sought similar resources, leading to the development of comprehensive Chinese culture curricula for schools, libraries, museums, and community centers across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. In 1999, the CCC relocated to Malden to support the growing Asian immigrant population and foster connections within the diverse community. Under the leadership of Executive Director Mei Hung since 1997, the organization has expanded its programming to promote intercultural awareness and respect.
