Our Story

Founded in 1995, the Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO) is dedicated to advocating for the rights of indigenous peoples in Myanmar. With a Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council since 2018, CHRO operates primarily in exile while maintaining an in-country presence since 2013. The organization is structured into two divisions: the Human Rights Division and the Humanitarian Division, responding to the urgent needs following the military coup of February 2021.

Our Impact

CHRO actively monitors, researches, and documents human rights violations, focusing on the Chin people and other marginalized communities. The organization has intensified its efforts to provide emergency humanitarian responses in the wake of the ongoing crisis, ensuring that the voices of the oppressed are heard and their rights protected.
