Our Story

Founded in 1947 in a Baltimore church, Chimes Family of Services began as a special education day school for five students with intellectual developmental disabilities. Over the decades, it has evolved to meet the diverse needs of the community, now serving over 20,000 children, adolescents, and adults across Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, North Carolina, the District of Columbia, and Israel.

Chimes Family of Services operates through three main components: Behavioral Health, Employment Services, and support for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Autism. The organization is dedicated to helping individuals achieve independence, realize their potential, and become active community members.
