Our Story

Driven by the unwavering commitment of Barbara Ireland, the Chili Public Library was established to serve the residents of Chili, New York. Appointed as Chairman of the Chili Library Committee, Ireland led a dedicated team to create a library that fosters learning and community engagement. Over the years, her advocacy resulted in significant expansions, including a new library extension in 1968 and a state-of-the-art 27,059 square foot facility opened in 2021.
