About Children’s Performing Arts

Founded in 2005 by Lynette Welsch at Forest Hills United Methodist Church, Children’s Performing Arts (CPA) has transformed the lives of countless children through the magic of theater. Starting with its inaugural production, ‘Come, Messiah Come’, CPA has evolved into a vibrant community hub for artistic expression. The flagship production, 'Legacy', introduces students from Kindergarten to sixth grade to the world of theater, allowing them to perform at their comfort level.

Impact of Theater on Youth

Theater experiences are influential in all aspects of a child’s life. It stimulates creativity, critical thinking, and empathy, while also building confidence, public speaking skills, and teamwork. The lessons learned on stage—where there is no replay button—instill flexibility and problem-solving abilities that benefit children throughout their lives.

Why Donate to CPA?

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, CPA relies on the generosity of donations and sponsorships from the community. Every child deserves access to quality theater arts programs, which is why CPA keeps participation fees low. Your contributions help purchase essential equipment such as stage props, costumes, and sound systems. As CPA continues to grow, so do its needs. Consider making an individual donation or corporate sponsorship to help cultivate the next generation of community leaders.
