About Children's Musical Theatre of Bartlesville

Established in 2000, Children's Musical Theatre of Bartlesville (CMT) was founded to meet the growing demand for arts education in northeastern Oklahoma. This nonprofit organization emerged from the community's desire to provide students with opportunities in musical theatre, encompassing acting, music, and dance. CMT's mission is to nurture creativity and develop essential life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and self-confidence through the performing arts.

Impactful Programs

The highlight of CMT's offerings is the annual Main-stage Summer Musical, a five-week intensive program where students aged 7-17 learn to produce a full-scale Broadway musical. This tuition-free program allows 65-85 students from the Bartlesville area to participate, ensuring accessibility for all. Additionally, CMT provides non-audition summer camps that teach students how to produce a show in just two weeks.

In 2015, CMT took ownership of the SPOTLITE program, which enriches the lives of every 4th grader in Bartlesville through in-classroom theatre education. The Missoula Children’s Theatre Residency Program further extends CMT's reach, allowing K-8 students to audition and perform original musicals in a professional venue.

Building Skills for the Future

In 2017, CMT launched Stage School, offering skills-based classes in acting, dance, and music. These classes are designed to build on each other, helping students achieve specific learning objectives. With a dedicated staff of trained professionals, CMT ensures that every student is challenged to reach their full potential.
