Our Story

The Children’s Literacy Network was founded in 1991 by Joan Weisman and Jenni Zimmer, who aimed to provide books to families in under-resourced communities. Starting with a garage full of books, the organization has grown to serve preschool through elementary school children, addressing literacy needs and building trust with families and schools.

Our Impact

Since its inception, CLN has reached over 400,000 children, providing evidence-based programs that improve access to books and literacy skills.
