Our Story

Founded in 1876 by William B. Swett, the Beverly School for the Deaf has a rich history as one of the oldest institutions dedicated to the education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children in the United States. Over the years, the school has transformed from an industrial/trade school to a comprehensive academic setting, broadening its mission to support students with various communication challenges.
