Our Story
Founded in February 1892 by Alfred Clay, the Children’s Bureau of New Orleans began as a movement to protect vulnerable children from poverty, abuse, and delinquency. Inspired by child-advocacy efforts in England and the northeastern United States, this organization has evolved over 130 years to meet the changing needs of the community. Today, it stands as a premier mental health agency, dedicated to serving over 3,000 children and their families annually.
