Founded in 2004 by Rita Wiltz, Children's Books On Wheels (CBOW) is a mobile nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the joy of reading to children in underserved communities. With a mission to ensure that every child has access to books, CBOW travels to various locations including community events, churches, and businesses across multiple counties. The organization serves a population where 75% live below the poverty line, making its work crucial for fostering literacy and education.

Making a Lasting Impact

Each year, CBOW distributes over 9,000 books and has collaborated with Meals on Wheels to provide over 7,524 hot lunches to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative not only promotes literacy but also addresses food insecurity, ensuring that children and their families have the resources they need to thrive.
