Our Story

In 1994, a group of concerned community members recognized the urgent need for a child abuse program in Smith County. Collaborating with law enforcement, the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services, and various community organizations, they laid the groundwork for what would become the Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County. Officially established as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1999, the Center has since provided a safe, child-friendly environment where victims can share their stories just once, ensuring they receive the support they need.

Impact on the Community

Every year, 1 in every 56 children in Smith County is reported as a victim of child abuse. With over 20 new victims coming through our doors weekly, the Center plays a crucial role in pursuing justice and healing for these children. By collaborating with law enforcement and Child Protective Investigations, the CACSC is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of these vulnerable children.
