Our Story
Founded in 1997, Children in Crisis in Dorchester County, now known as the Kay Phillips Child Advocacy Center, was established to improve the lives of children entering the foster care system. Initially aimed at creating a comprehensive evaluation and treatment center, the organization shifted its focus upon discovering the Children’s Advocacy Center Model. This model emphasizes outpatient, evidence-based treatment for victims of child abuse and neglect, alongside essential forensic services that support investigations and prosecutions.
