Our Story

Founded in 1977 as Family Outreach, Children First, Inc. emerged from a community-driven initiative to address the alarming issue of child abuse. Initially a volunteer organization, it provided essential case management for abused children referred by Texas Child Protective Services. In 1985, the organization rebranded as Children First, Inc. and became a proud United Way affiliate in 1988. Over the years, it has expanded its services to include individual and group counseling, family therapy, play therapy, and psycho-educational programs for adolescents.
