About Child Start

Child Start, through the Napa Solano Head Start program, has been dedicated to serving children and families in Napa County since 1965 and in Solano County since 1996. Established as a 501(c)(3) in March 2000, Child Start focuses on early learning initiatives, providing comprehensive family and children’s services in these two counties.

Impact on the Community

Each year, Child Start serves over 1,000 low-income families through its Head Start program. In the 2022-23 program year, 1,076 children and 1,006 families benefited from essential health and educational services, ensuring that children are prepared for kindergarten.
