Our Story

Founded in 1982 by Doris Cromartie, the Child Nutrition Program, Inc. emerged from a pressing need for a federal food program tailored for family child care home providers in North Carolina. With the guidance of Vicki Lipscomb, CNP has evolved into one of the most effective organizations in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) nationwide, dedicated to combating child hunger and enhancing nutritional health.

Impact

Every day, CNP serves over 50,000 meals to more than 18,000 children, significantly alleviating food insecurity and promoting better health outcomes.
