Our Story
Established in 1995 by a dedicated group of professionals and community volunteers, the Child Advocacy Center in Springfield, Missouri, was created to provide a sensitive and coordinated response to child victims of sexual abuse. The center offers a safe and comfortable environment for children to share their experiences, significantly reducing the trauma associated with multiple interviews by different agencies. Over the years, the center has expanded its services, including a second location in West Plains in 2010, to meet the growing demand for support across 14 counties in southwest and south-central Missouri.
Impact
Each year, the Child Advocacy Center serves over 1,500 children and teens, providing them with a safe space to share their experiences and access critical services. Accredited by the National Children’s Alliance, the center adheres to the highest standards of practice, successfully reducing the trauma experienced by young victims during the investigative process.
