Established in 1981, Chickpeas Child Care Center began in the living rooms of families in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Over the past 40 years, it has evolved from a private cooperative to a public, worker-self directed nonprofit. At its core, Chickpeas remains dedicated to nurturing the whole child through curiosity, exploration, and discovery.
