Our Story
Chicago Women's Health Center (CWHC) originated from the Feminist Health Movement of the 1960s and 70s, evolving from the Jane Abortion Collective. Founded in 1975, CWHC was established by dedicated health care providers and educators to address gynecological care disparities in Chicago. The organization emphasizes a peer-based, collaborative model of care, ensuring clients have control over their health decisions.
Impact
CWHC serves over 6,000 women, trans people, and young individuals each year, providing compassionate, affordable health services and education. As a leader in reproductive justice, CWHC adapts its services to meet the changing needs of the community.
