Community Development Through Arts
Bridging the Music-Related Achievement Gap

Our Story

Chicago West Community Music Center was established in 1979 to address the music-related achievement gap affecting minority and economically disadvantaged students. In response to a budget crisis that eliminated arts programs from Chicago Public Schools, the Center aims to provide scholarships, foster a community orchestra, and support local talent.

Impact

Delivering high-quality contemporary music instruction, the Center enriches the lives of over a thousand underserved youth annually, strengthening community bonds through various music genres.
