Founded in 1982, the Chicago Metropolitan Housing Development Corporation (CMHDC) has dedicated itself to financing the construction and rehabilitation of affordable apartments for low-income residents in Chicago. With a renewed focus in 1996, CMHDC transformed into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to preserving and developing affordable housing. By acquiring and improving buildings in rapidly changing neighborhoods, CMHDC ensures that residents have access to quality homes at affordable rents.
