Our Story

The Chicago Japanese American Historical Society was established to document and preserve the rich history of the Japanese American community in Chicago. Inspired by community leader Yoji Ozaki, the organization emerged from a need to reconnect former internees after World War II and to safeguard their stories for future generations.

Impact

CJAHS has developed impactful traveling exhibits and educational programs that celebrate the contributions of Japanese Americans, fostering a deeper understanding of cultural diversity.
